Everett B. Butler, IV, age 65, of Waterbury, CT passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown surrounded by family who shared how much they loved and adored him.
Everett was born in Waterbury, CT on December 30, 1956, son of Franklin Ray and the late Christina (Santos) Ray. He attended St. Thomas Elementary School, Holy Cross High School, graduated from Fryeburg Academy High School in Fryeburg, ME, and attended Mattatuck Community College. Everett served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Everett was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and great-uncle. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and loved ones. Everett was an avid cruiser, traveler, chess player, fisherman, and sports fanatic. While Everett loved all sports, he was a diehard Giants and Yankees fan.
Left to honor and cherish his memory, Everett is survived by his siblings, Manuel Ray and his wife, Miriam, of Portland, CT, Ronyah Ray and her wife, Betty Sambula, of Stone Mountain, GA, Monique Ray of Powder Springs, GA, Capucina Douglass and her husband, Curtis of Lilburn, GA, Byron Ray and his wife Ilean, of Houston, TX. He leaves several nieces and nephews including, Yasmine Ruiz, Mandela Mitchell Ray, Manuel Ray Jr., Shane Ruiz, Porter Ruiz, Kace Ruiz, Milly Williams, Junior Rivera, Jordan Tompkins, Byron Ray Jr., and Briana Ray. He also leaves several close extended family members including, Rene Santos, Samuel Marrow, Tony Rice, Troy Ellis, Greer Fleming, Brent Fleming, Darren Fleming, Andrea Ellis, Gregory Ingram, Bobby Ingram Jr., Keira Davis, Carol Dawkins, Terry Dawkins, Dwayne Dawkins, Tonya Dawkins, Jonathan Jenkins, Michele Jenkins, and a wealth of other cousins and friends.
Arrangements: A Wake will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 10 am to 11:00 am at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT followed by a farewell Prayer at 11:00 am. Burial and Committal with full military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 2324 E Main St, Waterbury, CT 06705.
