Frank J. Nye, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Albany, NY, on July 24, 2025, just days shy of his 72nd birthday. Born on July 31, 1953, in Albany Ny. Frank Was rasied by his loving Grandparents Frank & Ola DeNucci, Frank's life was a tapestry of tough love, laughter, and resilience.
Frank was preceded in death by his beloved Uncle Frank DeNucci and his loving & loyal siblings-Patricia Buchanan, Rose Zebrowski, and Benjamin Zebrowski-each of whom left an indelible mark on his heart. His absence will be deeply felt, yet he leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure through those he cherished.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Tonya Clas (Nye), who stood steadfastly by his side throughout his journey, offering unwavering support and strength. Frank was a doting grandfather to Christopher Clas, with whom he shared moments of joy, laughter, and the simple pleasure of making memories together.
His family also includes loving siblings, Joann Zebrowski & John Zebrowski, and his children MaryJane Nye, Krystal Nye, and Frank Jr., along with a host of grandchildren neices nephews, friends, and caregivers who enriched his life and provided companionship in his later years.
Frank's professional life was marked by his passion for culinary arts; he was a wonderful chef whose meals brought family and friends together. His ability to create delicious dishes was matched only by his sense of humor, a trait that only those who truly knew him could fully appreciate. Frank had a zest for life, filled with laughter and joy, which made the lives of those around him more vibrant.
In his free time, Frank found joy in fishing, relishing the tranquility of nature, and watching wrestling, a pastime that brought him joy and entertainment. He was also a true animal lover, showcasing his gentle spirit and compassionate heart through his love for all creatures.
Friends and family are invited to call from 10:00am-12:00pm on Monday, August 4 in the Wm. J. Funeral Home, 165 Columbia tpk, Rensselaer followed by a memorial service in the funeral home at 12:00PM.
In honor of Frank's love for animals, the family requests that donations be made to the Hudson Mohawk Humane Society, an organization that embodies the kindness and compassion he held dear.
