Gabriel “Gabe” Joseph Fritz, 33, of Columbus, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 9, 2024. He was born in Westerville, Ohio on May 15, 1991 to Margaret Besaw and Eric Fritz.
Gabe is survived by his parents, Margaret (Beau) Delongchamp and Eric (Crystal) Fritz, and his brother and best friend Noah Fritz. He is also survived by his Grandparents Roger and Susan Wasem, Grandmother Molly Fritz-Beckers, Uncles James (Nelcia) Besaw, Robert (Holly) Besaw, Aunt Andrea Miller; cousins, Sophia (Christian) Walters, Jamie (Josh) Hardy, Benjamin, William, and Colin Besaw, Krista (Josh) Adams, and Carlee Miller. Gabe was preceded in death by his step-brother Patric McCarthy, Grandparents Robert and Ok Jun Besaw; and his beloved Grandfather and world travelling guide Kenneth Smith.
Gabe also leaves behind his girlfriend Miranda Good, close friend Meagan Cannon, and second family the Martinezes - Ramdis, Ramdiel, Rudis and Melades.
Gabe was a graduate of Westerville North High School and was a certified IT technician. He worked performing IT infrastructure installation for Verigent.
Gabe was a comedian from early childhood and throughout his life. He had a sweet soul with the ability to make friends easily due to his dynamic sense of humor. Gabe was also an extremely talented artist. Gabe loved every dog he ever met and they loved him right back. Gabe was a sci-fi and pop culture encyclopedia. He loved spending time with family and friends, sci-fi movie marathons, video games and making people laugh.
Gabe was an organ donor and was able to positively impact multiple lives with his final gift.
Immediate family will greet friends and family from 4 to 6pm, Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Newcomer Northeast, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, 43231. A service to honor Gabe’s life will be held at 10am, Monday, December 16, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5835 Central College Rd, New Albany, 43054. Burial will follow at Blendon Central Cemetery.
