Paul C. Rogers & Sons Funeral Home - AmesburyGeorge Cole passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening surrounded by friends, family and with a few puns still up his sleeve.
George was born in Salisbury Plains to Benjamin W. Cole and Pearl Chase Cole in 1934. A longtime resident of Salisbury, George attended Newburyport High School and was president of the class of 1954. He attended Xavier University on a football scholarship and eventually earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College in 1992. George had a distinguished career as a patrolman for the Salisbury Police Force.
George is pre-deceased by his brother Benny Cole, his wife Janet O'Hara of Seabrook, NH and leaves behind his close friend Judy Williams of Au Sable Forks, NY. He is survived by his children, Daisy, Ben and George (Chip) Cole, Julie English, Wendy Carrigan and her husband Tim, Michael O'Hara and his wife Brenda, Elizabeth O'Hara and her partner Steve Abbott, and Tom O'Hara and his wife Jane. In addition to his children he leaves behind more than several grandchildren: Annie Duncan, Chelsea Bates, Christopher Carrigan, Charlotte Cole, Michael Carrigan, Haley Rigol, Shannon O'Hara, George Malcolm Cole III, Erin O'Hara, Isabelle Cole, Tavia Cole, Malia Cole and Missi English. He is also survived by four great grandchildren: Brylin Brown, Scarlett and Nelly Bates, and Camp Rigol.
George's picture is still on the wall at The Park Lunch. He will be missed by all.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 3 to 7 P.M. at Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA 01913. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at the East Parish United Methodist Church , 8 Lafayette Road, Salisbury, MA 01952.
