Harry William "Buster" Allen, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 12, 2024, in his hometown of San Angelo, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 17, 1939, in the same vibrant community, Buster's life was a testament to his loving, kind, and wise nature. Buster's early years were shaped by the loving guidance of his parents, the late Harry William Allen Sr. and Hazel Loraine McNut, as well as his stepfather, Earl Carrol McNut. His family grew to include his devoted wife, Dorothy, with whom he shared a profound and enduring love. He is survived by family, including daughters Sherry Payne and Dee Banta, son Shane Allen, and stepsons Jimmy Ray Coates, Michael Lynn Coates, Edgar Allen Coates Jr., and Jason Jackson. Buster's role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply, and his granddaughters were indeed the light of his life, illuminating each day with joy and purpose. Buster's professional life was marked by hard work and entrepreneurial spirit. He spent many years behind the wheel as a truck driver, a job that took him on countless adventures across the country. Later, he channeled his tenacity and dedication into his own business, founding and running the successful bail bond companies Eze & A&b bonding. Even after retiring as a process server, Buster's reputation for reliability and integrity remained a hallmark of his character. Outside of work, Buster was a man of diverse interests and talents. He had a passion for bowling, where his competitive spirit and camaraderie with fellow bowlers were on full display. A game of pool was never just a game when Buster was involved; it was an opportunity for laughter, strategy, and connection. Dancing was yet another joy in his life, a chance to sweep his beloved Dorothy off her feet or to teach his granddaughters the steps that he had mastered over the years. These simple pleasures were the threads that wove the rich tapestry of Buster's life. As we remember Buster, we reflect on the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Buster embodied this sentiment in every aspect of his life, touching the hearts of those around him and leaving an indelible mark on the world. Buster's legacy is not only in the businesses he built and the work he accomplished but in the love he shared and the wisdom he imparted. His was a life lived with purpose and joy, a life that will continue to inspire and guide us. As we say goodbye to Harry William "Buster" Allen, we take solace in knowing that his love and lessons will forever be with us, just as the memories we hold dear will always keep him close to our hearts.
