Hunter Seth Joyner, 23, of 1522 South David Street, San Angelo, TX, died Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in his home.
Born on May 26, 2001, he was a lifelong resident of Perquimans County until joining the United States Marine Corps. A 2019 graduate of Perquimans County High School, since his honorable discharge from service, he had worked at area auto parts stores and dealerships in Texas. He was a member of Hertford United Methodist Church.
Surviving is his mother, Lisa Monds Davenport (husband, Rickey) of Hertford; his father, Andrew B. Joyner of Toano, VA; a sister, Bailey Joyner of Hertford; three brothers, Jack Joyner and Waylon Davenport, both of Hertford, and Bradley Joyner of Virginia; his maternal grandmother, Jeanette Nixon of Edenton; his paternal grandmother, Anita Joyner of Chesapeake; and many extended family members and friends.
Hunter was preceded in death by grandparents, James "Teeny Man" Monds, Thomas Nixon, Bruce Joyner, and Bernice Joyner.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 12th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford. The burial will follow in the family cemetery on Poplar Neck Road in the Belvidere community. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home, or all other times at Lisa and Rickey's home, 143 Riverwood Drive, Hertford.
