I met Ian throught playing music and also the connection from working with Lee. He was a very special and talented guy who always made me feel like the only one in the room. His warm gentle spirit will be missed. Thinking of you Lee and Kelly. I know he and Lauren are watching over you all.

I lost my dog and made a friend in Ian! I went out back yelling "Angus", "Angus" our little white dog, and a moment later here came Ian, like the pied piper leading our puppy back home, That was first time I saw Ian´s smile, noticed his calm, and could see how tender he was with our puppy! But this wasn´t the last time Ian would be bringing our puppy back, and that is how we became friends. Angus seemed to immediately sense Ian´s energy was drawn to him again and again....like we were.
Soon Ian came over talking about playing guitar and singing. Really...this was certainly new to us, but you could tell Ian was an old pro at it. We said YES and he and Lee came over and we had to most awesome concert on our back deck! Ian sang original he wrote and we really loved it....Lee wasn´t too bad either! :-)
Over the next few months this became a pretty regular occurance. My wife and I joked that we hit the JACKPOT with the best neighbors ever! Ian just seemed to be `natural´! He lit up the room when he picked up that guitar and it seemed like every song came directly from his soul. Our 17yr old daughter suddenly thought we were `cool´ because we have a friend who was a Rock Star! That is the impact Ian had.
About a month or so after we met, Ian had re-kindled my interest in the guitar. After not playing for over 30yrs, I started again. And for the past 8-9months or so I have played every single day. And every single day I think about Ian, and am thankful God brought him into my life. His passion for music, his love of performing, his disregard for what ANYONE else thought really changed my life. Unfortunately I only knew Ian for about a year, but its a year that changed this old mans life. An old man an a rock star......how lucky was I!

Ian was one of the nicest people I've ever known. He was a friend to all who knew him! He will never be forgotten! So sorry.

No matter what, a desk a chair even the wall, Ian would turn those objects into a drum set. Lol Overall Ian was a kind down to earth person that easily became a great friend in your life. You will be missed and never forgotten.

We just moved from Texas to Columbia and were lucky enough to move in next door to Ian. I first met him when I went out into the back yard, yelling my dogs name, `Angus, Angus´, and here comes Angus with a new friend, Ian. From the first time we met, Ian was calm and kind, and seemed to always have that radiant smile, well you just have to love someone like that!
Well our puppy kept going to see Ian, multiple times a day it seemed, and Ian was always happy to play with him, and escort him back home. Then one day he asked if he and his Dad could come over and play guitar for us, to get ready for an upcoming performance. Well, sure! This was new, but soon we were sitting on our back deck listening to Ian sing and play guitar with such passion that it was truly infectious. We loved his singing, and playing.....heck, we had a new friend who was a Rock Star! We were so lucky to be able to repeat this several times, and every time it was a blessing. Our daughter was SO impressed that somehow we were "cool" only because of our new friend Ian, as we had never been cool before!
I didn´t get the pleasure of knowing Ian for very long, maybe a year, but it was a blessing I cherish. His playing and singing, motivated me to put up my guitar again, after not playing for 30yrs, and I play every single day. And every single day I thank Ian because he reopened a love of the guitar I had lost long ago. I miss seeing his smiling face showing up at our back door. I will always miss Ian.

I'm so so sorry for your loss. Ian was the first person I ever played music with. My first bandmate. He gave me the confidence to perform live for the first time with him by my side. He will always have a special place in my heart. Rest easy, old friend.
