James Albert Chapman was born on July 9, 1956, in Anderson, SC, to the union of the late, James Matthew Chapman and Edith Elizabeth Chapman. James was also known as "Abby" to most everyone, and "Abbo" to very few. He attended D.W. Daniel High School. He was a hardworking, devoted father, to all his kids. He wouldn't choose anything over his grandkids. Abby was a people person. Everyone loved him and he loved them back. He would let that love be known.
Abby was 67 years old. He worked hard for his family. He worked for Central Concrete and Plasture and JP Stevens. He traveled all around doing this type of work. He loved working on cars as well.
To celebrate his life and cherish his wonderful memories are his daughters, Brittany D. Chapman (T.K) and Carrie L. Davis (Bella); son, Demetrice Fruster; eleven grandchildren, Carson A. Fruster, Jy'Kerious D. Sullivan, Ty'Cerrious C. Quarrles, Tabrtton and Terence, Jr. Krighten, Jamori, Jalonte and Brandi Chapman, Anan'Liya C. Williams, Xzaeda and Jabria Chapman- Lomax; sister, Linda Whitner; two nieces, six nephews, two great niece, two great nephew, one aunt, Marilyn; two special friends, Angela Davis and Jubar Hampton and a host of relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Matthew Chapman and Edith Elizabeth Chapman, one sister, Queen Elizabeth Chapman Nnaji; two brothers, John Patrick Chapman and Timothy Matthew Chapman; one son, James Brandon Chapman; one daughter, Angieleka Nicole Davis
Funeral service for Mr. Chapman will be, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 1:00 pm at The Unity Mortuary of Anderson. Internment will follow at Memory Gardens,
586 Issaqueena Trail, Central, SC 29630.
Public viewing: Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at The Unity Mortuary of Anderson.
The family is located at 115 Shirley Street, Apt. C3, Pendleton, SC 29670.
