Dr. James Leland Clack, age 86, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born and raised in Hickman, KY, yet lived in Horse Cave for over 40 years. He was in administration for close to 50 years in both the private and public sectors in Kentucky, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Lions Club and of Munfordville First United Methodist Church. Dr. Clack was an alumni of both Murray State and the University of Maryland. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, playing the penny slots, and spending time with his family.
He is the son of the late Henry Paul Clack and the late Leila Lee Gray Clack.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette R. Clack; his sister, Margaret Clack Yates; and his two brothers, Paul and Ralph Clack; and his grandson, Larry Brooks.
He is survived by his two sons, James Paul "Jim" Clack (Debbie) of Leitchfield, KY and William "Jeff" Clack (Becky) of Alvaton, KY; 5 grandchildren, Jamie Brooks (Dawn), Jason Clack, Brandon Clack (Eva), Tucker Clack, and Meredith Clack; 6 great-grandchildren, Tayton, Brianna, Tori, Austin, Ariel, and Tristan; 2 sisters-in-law, Martha Ann Ramsey and Judy Powell; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM CST on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Munfordville First United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life will be at 5:00 PM CST on Friday, January 31, 2025 with Bro. Anthony Marts officiating. A graveside service will be at 2:00 PM CST on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Hickman City Cemetery in Hickman, KY.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Munfordville First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
