James Jaramillo

James Jackson Jaramillo, age 34, died unexpectantly at his home on December 17, 2022. He was born on January 24, 1988 in Provo, Utah, to his parents Jim Jaramillo and Cindy Webb Jaramillo.
James went to UCLA his first two years of college and finished his bachelor's degree in history, with honors, at St. Louis University. He played soccer at both universities which included playing in the national championship game his freshman year.
James married Jena Peterson in 2017. They had a beautiful daughter, Jayda Dawn Jaramillo, now age 5. They were later divorced. He was a small business owner and soccer trainer at JJ Soccer. He loved his job and all of the players he trained.
The soccer community lost a talented trainer, coach, mentor, friend, father, son, brother and nephew. On the field of play, James exhibited a level of skill that was remarkable. He was responsible for the development of several of Utah's most successful athletes at the collegiate level. He was best known for his infectious sense of humor and for making everyone laugh. James was greatly admired for his athletic abilities and he passed his love and passion for sports to everyone he trained.
His greatest love was his 5-year-old daughter, Jayda Jaramillo. He would play with her for hours. They liked to play in the snow, go swimming, play games and dance. He took her to every playground. She loved playing soccer, especially when her daddy was her coach. He always made sure he spent time playing with her every day.
He is predeceased by his grandparents Jerry and Helen Jaramillo and Dawn and Cliff Webb. Survivors include his parents Cindy and Jim Jaramillo. He left two sisters, Malerie Jaramillo of Orem and Danielle Jaramillo Burgar (Josh Burgar) of Parker, Colorado and two nieces Aria and Delaney Burgar. He has a daughter, Jayda Jaramillo, whom he loved more than anything. James rest in peace. You were greatly loved and will be missed, until we meet as a family again.
The memorial services will be held at Heatheridge Stake Center in Orem. The address is 450 East 2000 North. The viewing will start at 10:00AM with funeral services commencing at 11:00AM. Grave side service will follow the funeral service at the Orem City Cemetery.
