Jan Ellen Spears, 72 of Franklin, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025.
She was born on April 6, 1953 in Christopher, Illinois to James "Jim" and Joann (Speers) Summers. She married John Spears on November 5, 1990. He lovingly survives. Jan is also survived by children, Anthony Spears (Bonnie), Rex Spears and Christopher Spears (Morgan); two grandchildren; sister Mildred Jean Dillow (William Jay Dillow); nephews Doug Dillow (Trish), and Mark Dillow (Chelsea). She was preceded in passing by her parents.
Jan was a 1971 graduate of Franklin High School. She was part of the group of "Girls of 71" Club.
She was employed by the State of Indiana, Child Support Division for several years.
She was a member the Crossway Bible Church, formerly the Open Door Fellowship Church. Jan enjoyed gardening and loved her dog, Rosie.
A Celebration of Jan's life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with Visitation on Saturday, October 18 from 1:00 p.m. to time of service at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
