Jane Farley, 91, of Waupun, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023 at home with family by her side.
Jane was born on August 4, 1932 in Milwaukee to Frank and Harriett Juedes Senft. Jane graduated from Lutheran High School in 1950 in Milwaukee. She married the love of her life, Vernon Farley on August 11, 1951. Married for 72 years she demonstrated to her family how to make a marriage last a lifetime.
Jane had many jobs but being a homemaker was most important. She attended Waupun Evangelical Free Church. She had a servant's heart. She was a member of many service organizations, such as Dodge County Tavern League, Fond du Lac County Government Days, Forty et Eight, and longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 210 in which she served as president for 20 years. She was the coordinator of the American Red Cross Blood Drive in Waupun with Vern for 35 years.
Jane was the queen of our family. She enjoyed camping with her family and friends and having nightly bonfires and playing Mad Libs. You could hear her laughter down the road. She enjoyed playing cards, especially 500 rummy and royal rummy (Tripoly). Jane liked to bowl, so much that she and Vern would organize a Farley Family bowling tournament every year. She was also on a dart league with her family. Her legacy is the love of her family.
Jane is survived by her husband of 72 years, Vernon; 7 sons: James “Fran” (Lisa) Farley, Rick (Vicky) Farley, Robert (Cindy) Farley, John (Lori) Farley, Dennis Farley, Jerry Farley, and Todd (Angela) Farley; 12 grandchildren; Justin (Amy), Ryan (Cassie), Vernon (Molly), Jason, Chris (Lindsay), Ben, Nick (Kate), Lindsay (Trent), Stephanie (Kevin), Robert, Shane, and Hudson, 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a foster daughter, Colleen Lehner; a long time family friend and main caregiver, Bob Orr; brother, Dick (Barb) Senft; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Farley; a brother George Senft; and two sisters: Joyce Taylor and Lois Haima.
Funeral services for Jane Farley will be held Wednesday, August 30th, 2023 at 11 am at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Pastor Mike Giebink officiating. Burial will follow at Cattaraugus Cemetery in Waupun. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4-7 pm for visitation and on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of service.
