Mrs. Janet O'Melia, age 68, of Newborn passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She was born in Oak Forest, Illinois on September 26, 1956, to A.M. and Betty Ruth Alexander. Janet was a 1974 graduate of College Park High School. She was a wonderful caregiver and loved children; Janet worked as a childcare professional with both Kids-R-Kids and Kids R Great. She loved to go for car rides, looking at flowers, and sea gulls. Janet was Catholic by faith and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her father A.M. Alexander, and her sister Nancy Laura Brock.
Janet is survived by her husband Kevin O'Melia; her mother Betty Ruth Alexander; her siblings Tony Alexander (Gudrun) of Zepher Hills, Florida, Beth Ehrensperger (Tommy) of College Park' and Pete Alexander (Malinda) of Covington; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, along with other family members, and many close friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. O'Melia will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Lahronda Little officiating. Interment will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday at East View Cemetery, 56 4th Ave.SE, Atlanta, GA 30317. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM prior to the service on Sunday.
