It is with profound joy and sadness that we celebrate the life of Jean A. (Seibert) Benson who passed away on July 18, 2024 at age 88. Jean leaves behind to mourn; children, Lisa Gesenhues, Krista Tepe (Dick), Alison Benson (Elizabeth), Lisa Benson (Debbie), Clay Benson (Tracy), and the late Mark Benson. Grandchildren include Andrea Tepe, Dan Tepe (April), Kyle Tepe (Jenn), Mary Hess (Andrew), Chase Benson and Great grandchildren Reagan and Drew Hess. Jean was married to the late Dewey "Sox" Benson and the late James A. McMullen. Jean was the daughter of Art and Verna Seibert and sister of Judy Moss, all deceased. Jean loved her friends and family. She also enjoyed UK Basketball, Reds, golf, music, crosswords, and the Cincinnati Pops. She was known for her compassion and class and had a great love of reading. Jean Benson got to see her grandchildren grow up and enjoyed her great grandchildren. That is a pretty wonderful thing! She liked bridge, her family, (not always in that order), the Statler Brothers and Simon & Garfunkel. She was a fearless cook and proper housewife back in the day. She had lifelong friends, though not many are left. Her family adored her, respected her, loved her and that's a good life indeed! She was the most loving, gentle, kind, lovely human we've ever known. We were very lucky-we all were-to be raised by our Mother. Visitation will be held at the Vitt, Stermer and Anderson Funeral Home, 4619 Delhi Road, Cincinnati, Ohio on Saturday, July 27th from 9 AM until time of funeral service at 11 AM. Burial and committal service will follow at Richwood Cemetery, Walton, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Hospice of Cincinnati.
