Jerry Clare Jacopetti

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jerry Clare Jacopetti, who departed this life peacefully August 22, 2025 surrounded by loved ones while in hospice at Alameda Wellness and Heathcare Center.
Jerry was a beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend remembered for his unwavering kindness, quiet strength, and a gentle spirit that left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jerry is the son of Edward C. Jacopetti and June L. Jacopetti. He is is survived by his brother, Frank Jacopetti, nieces Jill Jacopetti, Jennifer Olson, and countless friends and relatives who will carry forward his memory and spirit.
Born March 31, 1960 at Alameda Hospital. His parents and family were early residents of Bay Farm Island. Jerry also lived at other locations in Brookings Harbor, Oregon and Angwin,California.
He graduated from Alameda High School in 1978 and later studied at California State University, East Bay. During his career he worked as IT & Marketing Manager for Blaze Technologies, Eric Electronics and Systems Manager for Brill Electronics.
Jerry most enjoyed being in the restaurant business with being a co-owner of Bip's Broiler at the Encinal Shopping Center. He was most proud of being a Certified Broiler Chef at the Rustler Steak House and then later working at Pacific Fresh Seafood Restaurant & Market. Jerry met many of his life long friends at these Alameda locations.
Outside of work, Jerry was known for his interest in archaeology, egyptology, history, mythology, science fiction and going to antique fairs, garage sales and buying unique collectibles.
Jerry served on several civic boards that included Alameda Historical Advisory Board and the Brooking-Harbor Youth Association. In addition was an interpretive guide for special exhibits at the Oakland Museum of California.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to FAAS( Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter) in honor of Jerry's love of animals, especially his beloved dog, Freya or a charity of your choice.
