Jessica Fitzpatrick, a cherished spirit whose life was a beautiful testament to the joy and dedication she brought into this world, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2024, in Carmel, NY. Born on September 8, 1976, in White Plains, Jessica's journey began filled with promise and enthusiasm.
Completing her early education at Kennedy Catholic High School before advancing through the University of Phoenix online, Jessica carried her passion for learning into a successful career. She rose to become a respected Director at Transamerica in Harrison, NY, where she was not just a leader but a mentor determined to empower staff embarking on their career paths.
Amidst the demands of her professional life, Jessica's heart remained firmly rooted at home. She brought the utmost joy to every family gathering, and was a source of light and warmth to her family. She was the cherished wife of Brendan Fitzpatrick, beloved daughter of Richard Gardella and Maureen Gardella Murnane, and a loving sister to Rick Gardella. Her extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins will remember her fondly for her warmth and the tight-knit relationships she nurtured with each of them. Nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her loving nieces who she adored and the feeling was mutual.
Jessica's life outside work was rich with the things she loved most: the embracing circle of family, the joy of the outdoors with hiking and biking, and the pleasures of cooking and baking. She lived for the Christmas spent in New Hampshire and held dear the 20-year tradition of vacationing in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Jessica also gave her time freely helping others on a few meaningful Mission Trips to Guatemala.
Described as adventurous, selfless, and intelligent, Jessica lived the words of Helen Keller, "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all". Her legacy-a tapestry woven with courage, generosity, and wisdom-will forever guide and inspire. Jessica's passing is a profound loss, but the footprints she left behind will guide us toward the adventurous life she embraced so fully.
Jessica Fitzpatrick, you will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of walking the path of life alongside you.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc., 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY.

She was the best! You couldn’t ask for a better niece and friend she was a gift from god that brought more joy to our family that will leave a giant hole in our hearts. She could make you laugh even though she wasn’t trying. She very much enjoyed being the only granddaughter in the family as the other kids started to come into the family she was secretly happy they were all boys. You must understand there were special perks being the only granddaughter and niece no competition. She will be missed beyond words and never ever forgotten. The one thing we do know she’s in good hands there are many in heaven that will take good care of her until we see her again. Love you always and forever. Uncle Buck and Me
