Jill June, age 78, a lifetime resident of Lapeer, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Jill was born in Flint on July 2, 1946, to Marjorie and James Burke, and the twin sister of Jan. Jill graduated from Lapeer High School in 1964 and shortly after married her husband, Terry June, on September 19, 1964, at the Lapeer Methodist Church. Jill held many jobs, but kept a steady career at Kmart for 25 years.
During Jill's retirement, she enjoyed taking day trips to the casino with her husband and going up north with her sisters for a girls' weekend. She deeply cherished any time she got to spend with her family. She had a heart of gold and was a fantastic mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Jill is survived by her doting children Tracie (Michael) Jones, Randy June, and Beth Skalski; grandchildren Ryan June, Lauren (Cody) Birker, Nicholas Skalski, and Nolan Skalski; great-grandchildren Kinsley June, Harrison Skalski, Landon Birker, and Lily Birker; brother Mike Burke; sisters Maryann Lester, Cheryl Morey, and dear twin sister Jan (Mike) Powell; as well as many extended family members. Jill was preceded in death by her aforementioned parents and her husband of 54 lovely years, Terry June.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 3-8 PM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 11 AM at Lynch & Sons with an hour of visiting prior. Mike Burke Jr. will officiate.
