On February 13, 2025, our loving Husband, Dad, Paw Paw and Great Paw Paw, Jimmie Lee McDaniel answered the call of our Lord "Come Home good and faithful servant". Jim was born on March 26, 1935 in Lowell, NC the son of Leroy Hoke and Dorothy Price McDaniel.
Jim was a Marine veteran, and truly proud to be an American, serving God and our Country. Jim was an amazing Christian! He embodied both love and patience of Christ, and it showed with how he interacted with everyone he met. While in the Marines, he receive the call from our Lord to work with youth. Jimmie and Nancy's love story began February 13, 1960 at a valentines banquet he planned for the youth of FBC Lowell. It was their first date. Over the next 64 years, they were honored to minister to youth and children. Jim was a wonderful artist and photographer! He planned dramas, musicals, VBS and youth camps that were breathtaking adventures. From writing the scripts to painting the backgrounds and everything in between, he loved creating them all for the kids. Their lives were complete leading children. His proudest moments were surely the time he spent with his family! He was our inspiration and a great mentor! Always passing down both loving wisdom and silly stories. So kind and so patient to help us with anything. Jim went home to be with Jesus, holding Nancy's hand on their 65th dating anniversary.
Jim graduated from Lowell High School and Mars Hill College. He also attended Belmont Abbey College and the University of Georgia. He served 16 years as a Scout Master, recognizing 8 Eagle Scouts. He worked for Caskie Paper Company for 38 years, as a wedding photographer for 34 years. He served as a Deacon, RA Leader, VBS director, and youth leader in multiple churches over his lifetime.
