John Donald Randall passed from this life unexpectedly on March 14, 2023, in Ft.
Lauderdale, Florida. John was born in
Ypsilanti, Michigan, on Sunday, November 14, 1993, and moved to Indiana with his family shortly after birth. Most recently, John worked as a crew leader of a landscaping company as well as the Assistant Officer Manager and Assistant to the CEO of the James Club Recovery Center in
Oakland Park, Florida.
John leaves behind a family who loves him unconditionally including his parents, Mike and Kimberly Randall and Cheli Cogswell; brother, Nicolas Randall (Kristen); sister, Katherine Randall; aunts, Rachele Randall (Angela), Shawn Swarthout (Jay), and Jessica Taylor; uncles, Charles Cogswell, Timothy McGriff, Clifford Lamar, Jeff Lamar and Steve Lamar ; grandparents, Bonnie Lamar, John Randall (Shanna), Stella Cogswell, and William and Linda McGriff; nieces, Rylee and Reagan; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Cogswell and George Lamar.
Although he was raised in Indiana and graduated from Martinsville High School in 2012, he remained an avid fan of the Michigan Wolverines. Growing up, John was a talented athlete who loved playing baseball, football, and basketball. He enjoyed team sports and the competition, though his passion was making new friends and the fellowship of his teammates. John was also an avid outdoorsman, particularly fishing, boating, dirt biking and four wheeling. He was a naturally talented musician and was self-taught on drums, guitar and piano. One of his favorite pastimes was accompanying his sister's singing. John adored his family and cherished time spent with family and friends, especially on holidays and other special gatherings.
John will be lovingly remembered for his compassion and heart for others. He had a huge smile, goofy laugh, and spirit of giving. He was involved in several mission organizations and loved to help those who were marginalized or in need. During his long battle with addiction, he remained steadfast in his mission to always offer his love and support to those around him. Over the years, he was quick to offer his personal time, resources, and energy to fellow brothers and sisters he had worked alongside to defeat the disease. John was undeniably loyal to the core with a huge heart!
To continue John's life of compassion for others, the family has established a non-profit organization to financially assist families and individuals in their battle against addiction.
