Josephine F. Calio (nee Catanese), age 95 of Parma, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Anthony for 52 years; loving mother of JoAnn Meckes (Edward, Sr.) and Annette Barnett (Antonio); devoted nani of Edward Meckes, Jr. (Ed Hennes), Joedda Reuter (Steven), Jeannette Babyak (Nick), Jennifer Passerell (Paul Raber), and Jonathan Passerell (Brittany); great-grandmother of Aubrey, Lilly, Logan, Leanna, and Jace; dear sister of Carmella Toncar and Attilio Catanese (Barb); aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Preceded in death by her parents, Dominic and Mary Catanese (nee Gracco) and her brothers, Dominic Catanese (Donna, deceased) and Anthony Catanese (Mardette).
Josephine retired from Sears after many years in the credit department at the Middleburg Heights location. She loved to cook and was known for her signature spaghetti sauce and Italian wedding soup. Her holiday cookies were a treat for all throughout the years. Josephine enjoyed reading, gardening, and canning in her spare time.
Mass of Christian Burial at 11am on Monday, June 30, 2025, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 5891 Ridge Rd., Parma, OH 44129. Prayer service at the funeral home at 10am with procession to church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park. Family will receive friends from 2-6pm on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 Ridge Rd., Parma, OH 44129.
