Joshua Samuel Dutton, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the age of 31.
He was born on October 27, 1992, at Lackland Air Force Base, Tx, to Timothy K. and Margarita Dutton. Although born in Texas, Josh grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and considered the St. Martin Community his home. He loved to fish and cook and would devour some crawfish and crab legs. He had a strong interest in cars and driving fast, as most of the law enforcement agencies on the coast can attest. He was much like his maternal grandfather, a jack-of-all-trades and swore he could fix anything. He was a self-taught mechanic and loved fixing older Honda’s. He had two or three in his garage and yard in all phases of restoration, he was always fixing or replacing something.
Josh was a fun, carefree man who loved with his whole heart. He was hilarious, with a brilliant sense of humor and infectious smile. He was playfully sarcastic with a quick comeback in nearly every situation coupled with a quizzical glance that would almost immediately make you laugh or smile. Josh was the kind of person who would quite literally give you the shirt off his back and not have another to put on for himself.
Like many of us, Josh always had plans and projects and started many, but then a squirrel would run by and he would come up with another great idea and start another project before finishing the first, or second, or third, but Josh always found time to help a friend. He had a heart as big as the ocean and was always there with an outstretched hand to help someone in need.
Josh married the love of his life, Le Hang Thi (Huynh) and together they have two beautiful children, Liam (10) and Amelia (1).
Josh was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, David and Josephine Dutton, his maternal grandmother, Caridad Martinez-Garcia and his uncle, Jesus Garcia.
He is survived by his wife, LeHang (Hang) Dutton, son, Liam; daughter, Amelia, his parents, Timothy and Lisa (Maddox) Dutton, his mother, Margarita (Garcia) Dutton and sisters, Sofia (Dutton) Herndon and Sarah Dutton. Josh is also survived by a slew of aunts, uncles, and cousins too numerous to list, but all of whom loved him.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on March 2, 2024 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS. Friends may visit from 12:30pm until service time. A celebration of life gathering will immediately follow at the Biloxi Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum, 115 1st Street, Biloxi, MS 39530.
