Joshua Seth Ezekiel, left this world too soon on July 27, 2024, in St. Augustine, Florida. He was born in Washington, D.C. on August 22, 1979. He grew up in Yellow Springs, Ohio, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. and St. Augustine, Florida, where he attended St. Augustine High School and St. John's Culinary School. Josh moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to attend the University of New Mexico. Later he moved to Lexington, South Carolina. He loved surfing, fishing, skateboarding, and rock collecting and was a loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan. He also restored and sold old Ford trucks. In his adult years he traveled widely in the United States. Josh worked as a chef in many restaurants and later for a small construction firm. While living in South Carolina he met the love of his life Lacey Paxton, to whom he was engaged.
Josh loved to cook for others, particularly southwestern food. He worked at many St. Augustine restaurants including, Caps, Meehans, Outback Crab Shack, among others. He was kind-hearted, humble, peaceful, positive, respectful and honorable. He had a sharp sense of humor and was at times silly.
He is survived by his mother, Jan Neff and stepfather, Dan Neff of St. Augustine, Fl; father, Aaron B. Ezekiel and stepmother, Linda Fuller of Albuquerque, NM; aunts, Kathy Grey (Nick), Melodee Stump (Ray) Rachel Fishbein (Joel), Tamar Granor (Marshall) Susan Neff; uncle, Dan B. Kutcher (Rachel) and John Neff as well as many cousins. Friendship was dear to Josh. Lifelong friends were, Nick, Bill, Ginny, Mike and Meghan. He was preceded in death by his fiancé, Lacey Paxton.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 4pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home, 385 St. Rd. 207, St. Augustine, Florida.
