Age 93, of North Canton, passed away Sun., June 1, 2025. She was born June 3, 1931, in Canton, a daughter of the late Harold and Ruby (Youtz) Buchtel. Joyce was a 1949 graduate of Lincoln High School, retired from North Canton City Schools as a Teacher and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. Preceded in death by her husband, William Shisler and her sister, Judy. Survived by her daughter, Linda; two sons, David and Richard; one brother, Mark (Betsy); four very well loved and talented grandchildren, Christina (Aaron), Rebecca (Sam), Will (Claudia) and Britt (John-Mark); great grandson, Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Sat., June 28, 2025, at 12 Noon in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour before the service, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joyce's memory may be made to: Refuge of Hope Ministries, 715 Second Street NE, Canton, OH. 44704; or the Stark County Library, 715 Market Ave. N., Canton, OH 44702. Linda and family,
Sorry to hear of your mothers passing. I remember hanging out at your house when we were teens. Both your mom and dad were professional with their long careers, and raised a wonderful family.
