Judith E. Everitt, age 83, of Bath, New York, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the Steuben Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare. She was born on April 13, 1942, in Corning, New York, to Fred and Ruth (Clock) Houghtelling. Judith was a graduate of Painted Post High School. She married David Everitt, who predeceased her.
Judith will be remembered for her big heart and outgoing personality. She was a dedicated advocate for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.) and was actively involved in her community, always willing to help others. A devoted mother and grandmother, Judith was also a lifelong lover of dogs and shared her home with many beloved four-legged companions over the years.
She is survived by her three children: Robert Scott Hogan of North Carolina, Daniel (Debra) Christopher Hogan of Painted Post, New York, and Ruth (Chris) Ann McCoy of Texas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special grandchildren: Shane C. (Amanda) Green of North Carolina and Natasha Hogan of Bath, New York; special great-granddaughter: Morgan Bartholf, Sophia Oney ; sister: Carol Hitchens of South Carolina; and daughter-in-law: Donita Hogan of Bath, New York; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Judith was predeceased by her son, Edward Joseph Hogan; sister, Marjorie Pope; step son, Shane Green Everitt, and brother-in-law, Jason Hitchens.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, 130 W. Water Street, Painted Post, NY 14870. The time will be announced at a later date. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.
