Judy Ann Fontenot Dunaway, 62, a native of Baker and resident of Zachary, Louisiana passed away on May 17, 2022 after a long battle with a pulmonary disease. Judy is survived by her spouse of 43 years, Jimmie Randall Dunaway, Sr.; sons Jimmie, Jonathan and Joshua (Samantha); grandchildren, Brock (mother Jessica Dunaway), Nathan, Andrew, Jacelyn, Colt, and Chase Dunaway; mother, Beatrice Fontenot Gayle; sisters, Audrey Hillman and Mary Pourciau (Todd); sisters in law, Betty Baker (Blue), Barbara Wilson (Danny), Brenda Thompson (Steven) ; brother in law, Robert Dunaway; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Wedney Fontenot and her in-laws Jimmie and Flora Dunaway. Judy was an avid LSU fan and could always be found attired in purple and gold. She was a talented artist and loved spending time with her grandchildren making crafts. Judy will be remembered by all who knew her as a selfless, happy, and loving person who would talk to anyone at any time. Judy was a retired school teacher from the United Methodist Little School. Judy graduated from Baker High School. Visitation will be Friday, May 20, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Zachary, from 10am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm. Pallbearers will be Jonathan, Joshua, Brock, Nathan, Andrew, Jacelyn, Colt, and Chase Dunaway. The Dunaway family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the Baton Rouge General Pulmonary Critical Care Team (Drs. Godke, Brierre, Richard, Walker and Sanchez) along with Infectious Disease Dr. Waref Azmeh. and the entire ICU staff at BRG for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
