Justin Ray Peterman

Justin Ray Peterman, lovingly known as "JP," was born on November 23, 1972, and passed from this life on July 6, 2025. A devoted father, brother, grandfather, and friend, JP lived a life full of heart, humor, and loyalty.
A 1991 graduate of Moore High School, JP began his career at Ferguson Pontiac and GMC as a lot porter. He later found his calling at Tinker Air Force Base, where he dedicated over 25 years in the paint barn, applying his craftsmanship to painting aircraft with precision and pride.
JP was a passionate sports fan-an Oklahoma Sooners diehard who lit up whenever OU was playing. He was equally loyal to his Pittsburgh Steelers and could be found every Sunday enjoying the full NFL experience from pregame to postgame.
He loved the outdoors, especially fishing trips to Lake Eufaula, where he made cherished memories on the family houseboat. A true Oklahoma outdoorsman, JP even enjoyed noodling. In quieter moments, he found comfort in classic westerns and shows like Yellowstone, Deadliest Catch, and COPS.
JP had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and a gift for lifting spirits. He rooted for the underdog, welcomed everyone like family, and never met a stranger. A cold beer, a pinch of snuff, and good company were all he needed to feel at home.
Family meant everything to JP. He loved bringing people together, especially for holidays, and he especially looked forward to his mother's turkey and dressing. He also cherished every moment spent with his beloved dogs, Boomer and Charlie, who were his constant companions.
JP is survived by his beloved daughters, Caitlyn and Makenzie Peterman of Moore; his grandchildren, Preston and Madison Peterman; his sister, Robin Waller of Bridgecreek, and brothers, Rodney Carothers of Norman, Doods Carothers of Minco, and Jeff Carothers of Tucson, Arizona; along with a host of extended family and friends who will miss him deeply.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his cherished dog Bobo.
JP will be remembered for his big heart, bright spirit, and the joy he brought to so many lives. His legacy lives on in the love he shared and the memories he created.
