Katherine L. "Kathy" Dodd, 60, passed away on February 7, 2025, in her hometown of St. Augustine after a courageous 12-year battle with cancer. Born on December 10, 1964, in Flagler Hospital. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who spent her entire life in the city she loved. She was drawn to its beautiful beaches and vibrant community.
Kathy attended RB Hunt Elementary School and Ketterlinus Middle School before graduating from St. Augustine High School. She was employed for over 28 years by Vinyl Industrial Products as the purchasing manager. She was instrumental in the growth and development of the company and took a personal interest and sincerely cared for those she worked with.
Kathy cherished the friendships she made throughout her life and found joy in simple pleasures such as reading, bowling, and working on puzzles. She especially loved gathering with family on Saturdays to cheer for the Florida Gators and enjoyed playing board games with her lifelong friends. Music By The Sea was another favorite pastime, where she could relax and enjoy live music and dancing. Late night walks on the beach under a full moon with her husband was a special time for her.
Known for her honesty and kindness, Kathy never had an unkind word for anyone. She truly embraced life with her family and treasured every moment spent with her husband, daughters and grandchild. All of her pets were precious to her and she provided a loving home to many throughout the years. Her warmth and caring nature left a lasting impact on those who knew her.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 28 years, Tommy and daughters Christy (Gage) of Keystone Heights; Rachel (Caleb) of St. Augustine; brothers Bill Blalock (Cindy) of St. Augustine; Wayne Blalock (Patty) of Jacksonville; Steve Blalock (Kea) of St. Augustine; a grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents James C. and Lois Blalock.
A memorial gathering will be held on February 18, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Anastasia Baptist Church, located at 1650 A1A South in St. Augustine, Florida. The service will be officiated by Rev. Glen McCutcheon.
Kathy's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May her legacy of kindness and joy bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Our sympathies go to the family and friends who knew and loved Kathy. We only met her at Christie and Gage´s baby shower, where she showed sincere hospitality and delight in knowing that the family is growing and happy, even as she experienced health challenges. Peace and comfort in memory and faith.
