Kathryn Wiser, 76, died April 4, 2022, surrounded by family and friends in Layton, Utah.
Kate was born May 26, 1945, in Richfield, Utah to Harold and Barbara Ence. Soon moving to Kaysville, Utah, she cherished her opportunities to return to Richfield and loved spending time at Fish Lake with family and friends. She graduated from Davis High School and spent time working in local business but would soon be swept off her feet by the love of her life, Glade Wiser, and married on November 18, 1967. Soon after they were to be sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity.
Kate was a loving sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother with family spread throughout the west. She was an avid gardener and happiest when nurturing her yard. She was a lifetime learner and enjoyed reading, road trips, playing cards, and camping with family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, needlework, and quilting and will be remembered for the beautiful gifts she lovingly made for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She cared deeply about genealogy and dedicated much of her life to the work.
Kate was a fighter. She was caring, passionate and determined in all she did and will be missed by all those who knew her. We are happy she is at peace and reunited with her mother- Bobbie, Harold, whom she always referred to as "daddy", and brother Randy.
Kate is survived by a loving family: her husband, Glade, as well as daughters, Kris Fordiani, Karen Griffiths and Jennifer Maxfield sons, Mikel, Jason, and David as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her siblings: Marylin Simpson, Peggy Brough and Steve Ence.
