Kenneth Ray Escue, 86, of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024 at the House of Hope surrounded by family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday December 27th, at Edgemere Church of Christ with Sammy Hawkins officiating. The family welcome friends and family to a visitation at 10:00 a.m. at Edgemere Church of Christ before the service.
Kenneth was born on August 21, 1938, in Olney, Texas, where he was raised and went to school. He married the love of his life, Margaret, on August 11, 1956. He eventually moved to Garland, Texas where he worked in sales for Proctor and Gamble. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and he loved his family with a passion. More importantly, he loved God and he was always quick to share the love of God, not just with family but with anyone he came in contact with. He served as a deacon and an elder over the years and served the Lord in many ways. He worked at the Sonshine House, helped many in Honduras, and was quick to help anyone in need. He led by example. He also loved outdoors, guns and hunting. He loved to laugh and joke around. He had many sayings and family and others have latched on to those sayings today. He was truly a joy to be around.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Ruby Escue of Megargel, Texas; his mother, Lennie Gray Escue and father, Richard Escue of Olney, Texas; 1 brother, Richard; 1 sister Mary Lyn.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Escue of 68 years; 2 daughters Laronda and Bill Hawkins of Jacksboro, Texas, Debbie and Mac Jones of Omaha, Texas. 7 grandchildren, Mandy and David Crumpler of North Richland Hills, Texas, Larissa and Jeremy Green of Omaha, Texas, Evan and Leslie Hawkins of Vero Beach, Florida, Brittani and Jeremy Griffin of Pittsburg, Texas, Sammy Hawkins of Edmond, Oklahoma, Taylor and Kyle McWilliams of Pittsburg, Texas, and Brent and Taryn Hawkins of Bowie, Texas. 16 Great grandchildren and multiple extended family.
Anyone wishing to donate in Kenneth's honor can consider donating to the Sonshine House in Wichita Falls, Texas, through the Edgemere Church of Christ or to Honduras Missions Becca Program to provide school uniforms also through Edgemere Church of Christ or Naples Church of Christ in Naples, Texas.
