Kevin M. Rutherford unexpectedly passed away on May 14, 2023.
Kevin lived a life rooted in kindness, gentleness, and love. He was truly a Renaissance man who could both write a poem and build a shed in the same day. He openly expressed his love and fondness for others and was dedicated to building a wonderful life on the farm with his wife and "kids" - their beloved animals. Kevin's sincerity was a gift to all who knew him. He was witty, understanding, thoughtful, and amazingly good at trivia games. His love of travel, karaoke, and food made him a great person to talk and laugh with while enjoying a good meal. Kevin was committed to supporting the people in his life wholeheartedly. He loved his wife and their animals and built a life of love that he shared with his family and friends.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer A. DiStefano and their band of animals, his parents, Herbert and Ruth Rutherford, brother and sister-in-law, James and Katrina Rutherford, sister and brother-in-law, Denise and Jeffrey Wyatt, father-in-law, Gary DiStefano, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marnie and Joseph Macrillo, sister-in-law Carrie Macrillo, nieces Laura (Brandon) Clark, Sarah Brooks, Bella Hoyt and nephews Dominic Macrillo and Zack Macrillo as well as many other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his much-loved mother-in-law, Suzy DiStefano. Kevin was loving, caring, smart, and fun - he will be greatly missed. In the spirit of Kevin's generosity and love, the family asks that you direct any remembrances of Kevin to your local animal shelter in his honor. The family will honor Kevin at a Celebration of Life to be held a later date.
