Klaas Bruinsma, age 93, of Carroll, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on July 3, 1931, in the Netherlands to the late Meindert Bruinsma and Neeltje Westra.
Klaas was a kind and thoughtful man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and sharing his voice in church and local choirs.. He was an active member of the Olivedale Senior Center and a devoted member of Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church, where his faith was a guiding light throughout his life.
He is now reunited in his heavenly home with his beloved wife, Agnes Bruinsma; his parents; and his siblings, Doede Bruinsma, Aaltje Sijke Weilinga-Bruinsma and Pieter Bruinsma.
Klaas leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his children, Michael Bruinsma, Shirley (William) Searfoss, and Peter (Colleen) Bruinsma; and his grandchildren, Sean and Luke Searfoss, and Nicholas Bruinsma, all of whom brought immense pride and joy to his life.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Rd N., Pickerington, Ohio. A funeral service celebrating Klaas's life will be held at Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church, 895 Old Diley Rd., Pickerington, Ohio the following day, Monday, June 30, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Roger Au officiating. Interment will follow at Betzer Cemetery. Friends who wish may send contributions to the Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church.
