L. Scott Neely
age 77, of Oakmont, passed away on March 24, 2025. Scott was born and raised in Wilkins Township and graduated from Churchill High School in 1965. He earned his BS from IUP and his MBA from Duquesne University. He also served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. Scott had a successful 39 year career at PNC Bank, with his longest tenured roles as Regional Executive of Retail Banking and SVP in charge of Small Business Banking.
Scott was active throughout his career in many volunteer positions including: Monroeville Chamber of Commerce (one term President), International Children's Festival Board of Directors, 30-year Treasurer of the Center for Assessment and Treatment of Youth (later known as Wesley Spectrum), Treasurer of the Gateway Foundation, founding board member of the Highmark Caring Place, Monroeville Man of the Year in 1986 and also a long time youth soccer coach.
Scott was a loving husband, father and Pop - truly the best of the best. Scott was married to Roberta/Robby (Zubasic) for 54 years. He was father to Craig (Kate) and Meg Hakanen (Rocky) and Pop to Alessia, Francesca, Caitlin and Casey. His siblings are Ann Barnfield (Jack), Bill Neely (Sandy), Terry Neely and Mary Webb; brother-in-law Mike Zubasic; sisters-in-law Michelle Dameshek, Linda Goss and Diana Neely. He also had many beloved nieces and nephews who all believed that Uncle Scott thought they were his favorite. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Samuel and Marguerite Neely and in-laws Michael and Lubi Zubasic, brother-in-law H. Lee Dameshek and infant granddaughter Chiara Neely.
Scott was always referred to as "the most wonderful" - whether it was husband, Dad, Pop, brother, uncle, friend, boss or colleague. He was kind, loving, funny, goofy and always the optimist. Scott loved vacations (especially visits to the beach, often with his boogie board), playing golf with his buddies, attending his grandchildren's events, watching sports and time with family and friends.
Friends will be received Friday March 28, 2025, 3-7pm at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC, (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Rd, Monroeville (412-856-4747).
