Larry D. Gravett, 72, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025 in Louisville.
He was a loving and supportive husband, father, brother, uncle, great uncle and "Pop." He was a dairy farmer and showed champion jerseys. Later on he was a school bus driver for Shelby County Schools and was affectionately known as "Mr. Larry" to his students and teachers. He recently retired after 20 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Lyle and Mary Ann Shipman Gravett and his grandparents, R. D. and Alice Shipman and Nettie and Isaac Gravett.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Carla Ritter Gravett of Shelbyville; his daughter, Elizabeth Gravett Blank (Jon) of Shelbyville; his two granddaughters, Kristen Elizabeth Blank and Lauren Elise Blank, both of Shelbyville; and his brother, Robert "Bob" (Theresa) of Shelbyville, niece, Erin Evans (John) and family, nephew, Dylan Gravett (Holly) and family and two bonus families, the Tuckers and the Hornbacks.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 17, 2025 at the Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation will be 3-8 P.M. Sunday, February 16th. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
