Linda Ann Scipioni Melfi, 81, of Stamford, CT passed away on May 22, 2025. Linda was born on August 24, 1943 to the late, John and Mildred Scipioni. After John's passing, when Linda was 1, Millie met and married Alfred 'Curly' Perillo who raised Linda. Linda graduated from Stamford High School in 1961.
Linda spent her life working in clerical roles, helping at her parents' store, Hillcrest Variety, catering private house parties, the Knights of Columbus and working events at the Piedmont Club-where her favorite night was always Men's Night. Even at 81, she was still carrying dishes and serving trays with pride and energy.
She had a deep love for outdoor concerts and never missed a parade. She was rarely seen without something purple on, and she had a passion for discovering new bakeries. A true presence at any gathering, she could always be found on the dance floor doing the Lindy-or, if not dancing, wrapping up a container of food to send you home with.
Linda's heart was in the kitchen, and her legendary meatballs and chicken cutlets are already dearly missed.
She is survived by her son, Eddie Melfi Jr., and her daughter, Lisa May Melfi, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Alexis Melfi and Eddie Melfi III, who were the pride and joy of her life.
She is also survived by her sisters, Vicky (Bob) O'Connor and Debby (John) Cappiello; her brother, Al Perillo; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and a close-knit clan of cousins whom she adored.
She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Salvatore Minishi.
Calling hours will be Friday June 27 from 4-8pm at The Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home-104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. A celebration of life on Saturday, June 28, 10 am at Parkway Assembly of God, 260 New Canaan Avenue, Norwalk CT.
