Ms. Lisa Jan Owen

Lisa Jan Owen, 63, of Seymour, Indiana passed away peacefully May 5, 2025 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, with her loving family by her side.
Lisa was born on July 19, 1961, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of Stanley and Janet Sewell Owen. She graduated in 1979 from Columbus North High School, where she excelled in gymnastics. She attended Ball State University.
Lisa worked 36 years for the City of Columbus and Bartholomew County. She was a member of the Moose Lodge 416 and the Eagles Lodge 741. Lisa's grandchildren were the loves of her life, with 10 being born in the last 7 years. Known to her grandchildren as "Lili," she cherished every opportunity to spend time with them, traveling as far as California to babysit.
Lisa enjoyed gardening, reading outside on the back porch, and spending time with her companion, Scotty, who turned her into a reluctant farmgirl. She was a great and loyal friend. Her warmth and fun-loving sense of humor will be profoundly missed.
Survivors include her companion, Scott Decker of Seymour; sons, Justin (Mallory) Weddle of North Hollywood, CA., Jay (Alex) Weddle of Zionsville; "bonus children", Chad (Lis) Decker, also of Columbus, David (Jessica) Decker, also of Seymour, MacKenzie (Trey) Adams, Kelsey and Laney Pearson; mother, Janet Sewell Owen, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Mary Grace, Ellie, Brady and JJ Weddle, Ryder Weddle, Regan and Weston Decker, Jovie Decker, Cecilia and Emilia Adams; sisters, Laura (Mike) Brown, Lana (Steve Scgalski) Owen of Columbus; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley.
The funeral service for Lisa will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Steve Yeaton officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
