Lori Slagle Obituary

She was born on November 1, 1969, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of Michael Clawson and Jane (Folkner) Kramer. She attended area schools and was a 1988 graduate of Yorktown High School.
Lori held several positions in her community which included her family's business, The Yorktown Cafe, where she enjoyed serving her community and friends. Following that, she achieved her dream of becoming a registered nurse where she spent many years fulfilling her passion of caring for others. She worked for Ball Hospital and St. Vincent Hospital throughout the years in various departments.
Lori was known for her adventurous spirit, love of life, and even in difficult times, her tenacity and positive attitude kept her planning for opportunities to create more memories with those that she loved. Her greatest joy in life were her children, and she cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. Lori's dog, Bogey, was her constant companion and protector bringing her tremendous joy. Lori developed a love for lake life from her mother while spending time at Dale Hollow and the family lake house on the Barbee Chain. She loved the ocean and enjoyed vacationing at the beach. Lori never missed a chance to celebrate life with family and friends no matter the occasion. Her absence will be deeply felt by those who loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, daughter, McKenzie (Slagle) Shirey (husband Noah); son, Mitchell Slagle, and fur-baby, Bogey; one brother, John Clawson (wife Stephanie); two sisters, Kim Keller (husband Jeff) and Nicole Clawson; several nieces and nephews and countless wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Clawson, and Jane Kramer; her stepmother, Debra Clawson; and her stepfather, John Kramer.
Services will be 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Road.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, October 6, 2023, and one hour before the funeral service on Saturday at the Mt. Pleasant Chapel.
Her final resting place will be at Hawk Cemetery.
