Louis Odean Fender was born July 30, 1935 to the late Toney and Mary Jo Fender. This kind and gentle man departed this life and moved to his heavenly home on October 23, 2024. Odean lived in Nebo where he grew up and married to Leona Wilson. He had one daughter, Revonda Fender Ramseur (Robert). He was a loving father, and Revonda was the apple of his eye.
He was a member of Hillcrest Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He was seriously committed to those duties and was faithful until he was unable to attend. He enjoyed gospel music and singing in the choir. He loved growing a garden and working the land as a young man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Darrell Fender (Margaret Ann), Charles Fender (Eunice, who survives), Devon Boyd (Jo), and Priscilla Withrow (Raymond).
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Leona W. Fender; daughter, Revonda Ramseur (Robert); one sister, Freda Webb (Earl, deceased); one brother, Donald Fender (Jean Ann); and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Lawing officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Fender lived his last few days at Carolina Caring- Sherrills Ford Hospice House where he received excellent care and comforting. The family suggests those who wish to honor the memory of Louis Odean Fender to do so by sending contributions to the Sherrills Ford Hospice House.
