Lucille Sanders Corprew daughter of the late Deacon Daisy and Emily O'Neal Sanders was born on February 23, 1938 in Pantego, NC. Lucille was called home to be with her heavenly Father on July 2, 2025.
Lucille attended the former Beaufort County High School in Pantego, NC class of 1956. In the late 1950's she relocated to New York City and married Willie Earl Corprew in 1957. After returning to North Carolina, she worked at National Spinning Corporation.
Lucille was an active and faithful member of Terra Ceia First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church. She served as trustee, member of adult choir, youth leader, church treasury, and pastor aide committee. Lucille served in the Hyde County Missionary Baptist Association as youth leader and member of the adult choir.
Lucille enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a kind and caring spirit which made it easy for people to talk to her. Lucille made such a positive impact on people's lives. She never met a stranger. Lucille sheltered many family members, even strangers from New York to North Carolina. She was a giving soul and was willing to help anyone.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Earl Corprew; her son, Gregory Earl Corprew; her father and mother, Deacon Daisy and Emily O'Neal Sanders; six sisters and four brothers.
Lucille leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Sean Corprew, Sr (Stephanie) of Spotsylvania, VA, Cortez Branch of Washington, NC, Alvin Langley of Baltimore, MD, Mekhi Sincere Tyre of
Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Senesta Taylor of Albany, NY, Tynesha Tyre of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Qwaun, Antwaun, Rashaad, Sean Jr and Siara; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Russell; sister-in-law, Rosa Williams (Willie); one brother-in-law, Robert Rodman; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
