Marie Russo Obituary

Marie was born, raised, and spent most of her life in Trenton before moving to Columbus in 2006. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Class of 1947. Marie retired from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Fish, Game, and Wildlife in 1991 after 21 years of distinguished service. Marie enjoyed crocheting and making blankets as gifts for family and friends, especially for newborns. She was an outstanding baker known for her Christmas cookies and would spend hours doing puzzles with her children and grandchildren. Marie cherished the time spent with her family and friends and will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind.
Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband John Joseph Russo, and sisters, Agnes and Gertrude. She is survived by her sons, John Joseph Russo and his wife Nancy, Richard Russo and his wife June, Robert Russo, Michael Russo and his wife Sandra; grandchildren, Michael Christopher Russo, Lauren Marie Russo, Melinda Cifelli; brother, Edward Leary; friends Helen and Sue; and several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 30th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday, May 1st from 9:30 to 10:30, both at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown, NJ. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 1st at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, 45 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, NJ. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Hamilton Twp, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marie's name may be made to Miracle League of Mercer County at DONATE - Miracle League https://miracleleaguemercer.org/ or to Special Olympics NJ at https://support.specialolympics.org/
