Marilyn Elaine Fritts

Marilyn Elaine Fritts, 94, of Battle Creek, Michigan, was risen to her eternal life on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Brookdale Battle Creek. She was born on March 6, 1929, the daughter of William Pritchard Wentworth and Mabel Marie (Roberts) Wentworth.
Marilyn was a 1951 graduate of Albion College, where she received her Bachelor Degree in Teaching. She taught at Ostego Elementary School until she was able to stay home and raise her children. She was a volunteer at the Southwest Michigan Food Bank for many years where she ran the food pantry at Sonoma United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Sonoma United Methodist Church (now Grace Fellowship Baptist Church) where she sang in the choir and and served in many positions on the Pastor Parish Committee.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Steve) VanLeeuwen, Linda (Roger) Carlton, Velena (Mark) Moran, Lori (Randy) Stanton; grandchildren, Dale Brunner, Matthew Stanton, Michelle Stanton, Jeff (Monica) Stanton, Elaina Moran, Sarah (Malik) Bekele; 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl Lewis Fritts; brothers, Albert Wentworth and Robert Wentworth and sister, Eleanor Stevens.
Marilyn enjoyed sewing, she made many outfits for her children and outfits for her children's dolls. She enjoyed making crafts and selling them at craft shows. Marilyn had a passion for keeping her garden maintained and free of weeds. She loved to see the beautiful flowers that Earl grew and gave to her each day. She enjoyed puzzles and square dancing with her husband at the Sing A Ditties, Diamond Squares and Rolling Squares. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on April 27, 2023 from 2:00pm - 3:00pm at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church, 4790 Capital Ave. S.W. Battle Creek, MI 49015 with Pastor John Adams Officiating.
