Marilyn Whipkey Rasure Watson, of Evansville, passed away around noon on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Newburgh Healthcare, just eight days before her 92nd birthday. She was born on September 1, 1933, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, to the late Lloyd (Buck) and Mabel Whipkey, at her aunt's house.
Marilyn was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1951. She worked at Indiana Bell as a telephone operator and also as a dental assistant for Drs. Whitehead, Henry, and Pfafflin. She enjoyed eating at her favorite Chinese restaurant, Szechwan, as well as cooking, sewing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Mark (Robbie) and Randy (Jamie) Rasure; daughters, Sharon (Dale) Jones and Susan Watson Schaefer; grandchildren, Flint Rasure (Hanna Jane Forrest), Adena Raben (Sam), Kara Rasure, Mark Rasure (Lindsay), Mathew Rasure (Rachael), Murphy Hall (Kate), Sydney Schaefer, and Blake Schaefer; and great-grandchildren, Baylis Rasure, Henry Arthur Raben, Mabel June Raben, Milo Rasure, Hazel Rasure, Evy Rasure, Jack Rasure and Magdalina Rasure. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Whipkey.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her brothers, Steve and Jerry Whipkey.
The family would like to thank the staff of Newburgh Healthcare and Heritage Hospice for Marilyn's care.
Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel will be handling the arrangements. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
