Marjorie "Joan" Woodhull, 92, of Franklin, passed away on June 9, 2025. She was born on February 23, 1933, in Beech Grove, IN to the late Elmer and Dixie Brawner Hogue. She was married to Charles Robert Woodhull on October 24, 1953. They cherished 68 years together.
She graduated from Southport High School in
Indianapolis, Indiana in 1951. She was a genealogist and while living in southern Indiana from 1966-1986, she volunteered at the public library in Petersburg, setting up a genealogy research room and teaching genealogy classes. After returning to the Indianapolis area in 1986, she began volunteering at the Johnson County Museum of History in Franklin. She helped set up their genealogy room and assisted researchers there for over 30 years. In addition to working in genealogy, she was a Betty Crocker Home Tester, a Tupperware Dealer, and worked at L S Ayres Department Store in downtown Indianapolis. She was a member of the Alexander Hamilton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin.
Survivors include son, Brad Woodhull and wife Doris, as well as daughter, Pam Woodhull. Also, five grandchildren, Paula Vaal, Jennifer Butler, Keila Woodhull, Bradford Woodhull and Tonie Woodhull and 12 great-grandchildren, Adam Anders, Peyton Vaal, Braxton Perry, Caedon, Tyler and Brae Hammond, Shane, Haley, Echo and Ember Woodhull, Jada and Kingston Barksdale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, James and Jerry Hogue, son Jeff Woodhull, and son-in-law John Zagorski.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135,
Greenwood, IN with the funeral service at 11:30 AM. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
