With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Susan E. (Holton) Myers on August 26, 2025, in Flagstaff, Arizona. Born on February 4, 1949, to the late William Hyatt and Esther Mulder Hyatt, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Susan's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and her dedication to her community.
Susan graduated from Southport High School in 1967 and furthered her education at the University of Indianapolis, where she studied accounting. Her professional journey was marked by over three decades of service at Bank One, where she was greatly respected for her expertise and work ethic. After her time at the bank, she continued to share her talents as a Commission Accountant with Carpenter Realty for over 15 years.
A devoted Christian, Susan was a lifelong member of Calvary Lutheran Church for more than 45 years. She found great joy and fulfillment in participating in women's bible study groups, where she deepened her faith and formed lasting friendships. Susan's Christian beliefs were the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and interactions with kindness and grace.
Susan's life was rich with love and laughter, shared with her husband of 8 months, Channing Myers, and her former husband of 50 years, Glenn E. Holton, who preceded her in death in January of 2020. Her legacy is carried on by her children, Byron Holton (Jeanette) of Indianapolis, Belinda Patton (Scott) of Greenwood, and stepson Joshua Myers of Indianapolis. Her joy was multiplied by her grandchildren, Haley, Wesley, Ryan, and Dylan Holton, Abigail and Allen Patton, and Aria Myers, along with her great-grandchild, Serenity Holton.
Susan's family circle included her cherished brothers-in-law, Rex Myers (Phyllis), Darris Holton (Betty), and Phillip Holton, as well as her sisters-in-law, Judy Poling (David) and Debbie Pedigo. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Hyatt, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, whose memories she held dear.
Known for her compassionate spirit, Susan was the epitome of a loving, kind, and faith-filled individual. Her interests extended beyond her religious community, as she enjoyed spending quality time with her family, camping, and traveling. Susan's final days were spent on an extended road trip out west with her beloved husband Channing, embracing the beauty of God's creation and the joy of exploration.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 9, at 11AM at Calvary Lutheran Church, 6111 Shelby Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30AM until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to go to the family to help with memorial costs.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Singleton and St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, 7602 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
Susan's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire us all. She lived a life that exemplified the virtues of the Christian faith-love, kindness, and an unwavering belief in the goodness of others. As we bid farewell to Susan, we take solace in the knowledge that her life was a reflection of the divine love that she so freely shared with everyone she met.
