Marlene Truely Stock Nye passed away April 10, 2022 peacefully in her home surrounded by family due to heart failure. She was born in Ogden, Utah on June 7,1944 to Orville and LaVerne Stock. She was a graduate of Ogden High School. In the Spring of 1960, she took her father's Cream O' Weber dairy truck for a joyride down Washington Boulevard where she met the love of her life and eternal companion, Ronald C. Nye. She and Ron were married in the Logan Temple on June 17, 1963. Marlene and Ron had five children and settled in North Ogden, living in the same home for the last 52 years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the Primary and Relief Society Presidencies, Girls Camp Director for several years, and many other callings throughout her life. Marlene was employed by IHC for 29 years as a receptionist.
Marlene loved a cold Diet Coke and a hot apple pie ( or two) from McDonald's. One of her favorite pastimes was going on short drives with her husband in their dune buggy or, later, the orange Porsche. She was very creative, enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting, and creating a beautiful home for her family. She was an early riser, a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a great sense of humor, and though she suffered from dementia in her later years, she never lost her quick wit.
Marlene is survived by her sweetheart, Ron, her children Wendy (Mark) Rees, Kelly (Suzie) Nye, Brad Nye, and Kari Nye. She had 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings: Valon (Marylou), Sherm (Colleen), Russell (Janet), Sam (Chris), and Margaret (Fred). She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda, her parents, Orville and LaVerne, and her sister, Suzanne.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the North Ogden 4th Ward, 1791 North 600 East in North Ogden, with a viewing prior from 9:30-10:30 a.m..
