Mary E. Begin

Dover, NH - Mary Evelyn Begin, 92, of Rochester, NH passed away December 11, 2023 while surrounded by her family. Mary was born on November 2, 1931 in Harrison, Maine to Perley and Helen (Meserve) Foster. She met the love of her life, Roland Begin and together they raised four wonderful children.
Mary was very devoted to her faith and belonged to the Holy Rosary Church in Rochester, NH. She was a member of the St. Anne's Sodality and enjoyed making items to donate and sell through the church to those in need. Mary enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and quilting. Her artistic talents included drawing and painting. Mary was also a very talented seamstress, making draperies and helping her family with any sewing projects they needed. She was also an avid gardner and enjoyed her flowers.
Mary is predeceased by her parents, Pearly and Helen Foster and her siblings Carl and Ralph Foster, Addie Osborne, and Effie LaRoche.
Mary is survived by her husband Roland Begin of 73 years; her children Donna McDonald and spouse James, Elaine O'Martin, Anita McSheehan and Roland Michael Begin; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; many other family members and friends including Carol O'Barton along with several nieces and nephews. Mary is also survived by her sister in law, Stella Marcott.
Mary was truly a light in the life of those who knew her and will be deeply missed.
Mary is in the care of Grondin Funeral Home. Visitations will be held Friday December 15, 2023 at Grondin Funeral Home, 177 N Main St., Rochester, NH from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM with a service to follow at 10 AM at Holy Rosary Church next door.
