Mary Ann Nichols, 85, of Boonville, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at her son's home. She was born November 16, 1938 in Evansville to the late Albert and Emma (Durchholz) Folz.
Mary Ann graduated from Memorial High School in 1956. She owned The Beacon Inn restaurant and had a catering business with her sister, Linda. Mary Ann was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and St. Clements Catholic Church in Boonville. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and cherished time spent with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Maury (Patty) Nichols, John (Doris) Nichols and Jimmy (Andrea) Nichols; daughters-in-law, Dawn Nichols and Carol Nichols; 16 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda (Frank) Naas; brother, Gary (Norma) Folz; sister-in-law, Judy Folz; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years in 2013, James "Jim" Nichols, Sr.; sons, Mark Nichols, Sr. and Mike Nichols; daughter, Kathleen Nichols; great-grandson, Dustin Sellner, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Snow Smith; brothers, Thomas, Charlie and Bill Folz; and sisters-in-law, Pat Folz and Norma Folz.
A Rosary will be said at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville with visitation following until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd., Evansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Father Jack Durchholz and Father Bernie Etienne officiating.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd., Evansville, IN 47715 or St. Clements Catholic Church, 422 E. Sycamore St., Boonville, IN 47601.
