Matthew Hunter Fowler

Matthew Hunter Fowler, born on Monday, May 25, 1998 in Bolivar County, Mississippi, unexpectedly left this world on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Spartanburg Medical Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was just 25 years old.
Matthew was a remarkable individual, whose passion and zest for life touched the hearts of all who knew him. An old soul with a love for family, animals, Japanese anime, and sports, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm and a contagious smile.
His interests were diverse, ranging from his deep appreciation for poetry and classic movies to his insatiable curiosity about the wonders of science. Matthew's thirst for knowledge was evident in every conversation, as he eagerly shared his insights and discoveries with those around him.
Matthew's educational journey was marked by excellence. He graduated with honors from North Henderson High School in 2016, laying the foundation for his future accomplishments. In 2018, he proudly received his associate degree in chemistry from Blue Ridge Community College in Hendersonville. Matthew was a dedicated individual known for his work as a night shift clerk at Circle K. He embraced the night as an opportunity to connect with others, forming strong bonds with his co-workers and engaging in meaningful conversations with his late-night customers.
Beyond his academic achievements, Matthew cherished his family and friends above all else. He was a loving son to Jason and Kristen Fowler of Inman, South Carolina; and a devoted brother to his sister, Aliya Fowler. His presence brought immeasurable joy to his maternal grandparents, Danny and Linda Fike of Grenada, Mississippi, and his paternal grandparents, Ric and Phyllis Clay of Inman, South Carolina.
Matthew will be deeply missed by his dear uncles, John Fike (Yelena) and Danny Fike, Jr.; and his cherished cousins, John David Fike, Taylor Fike (Justin), Trey Fike (Morgan), Mary Wiggins (Zach), and Haley Fike. The memories they shared will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
In honoring Matthew's life, a celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 1st, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Pastor Gerald Lyda will officiate the service, providing comfort during this difficult time. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
A private inurnment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville. This final resting place will serve as a serene tribute to Matthew's exceptional spirit and the impact he had on those around him.
In our hearts, Matthew's memory will forever remain an inspiration. We will remember his passion for life, his kindness, and his unwavering love for his family and friends. As we mourn his untimely departure, let us also celebrate the beautiful soul that was Matthew Hunter Fowler.
