On Friday, March 29th, Brenton James Weaver passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was returning home to Naples, Florida from a work assignment in Alabama to spend the Easter holiday with his family.
Brenton was exceptionally inquisitive, diligently researching anything he found interesting. From an early age, he learned to question everything. He was kind and nurturing with a heart of gold, always making the most of any situation with his eternally positive outlook on life, even when reality wasn't so positive.
He loved life and lived for adventure. After graduating from North Henderson High School in 2000, he left his home in Hendersonville, NC to attend Appalachian State University in Boone, NC where he became an avid skier. He then moved to Colorado with the aim of skiing as much as possible and developed an affinity for going up mountains just as much as he enjoyed going down them. He had planned to climb all of the Colorado 14ers (those peaks over 14,000 feet in elevation). Though he hadn't completed all of them when he moved back to NC several years later, it was always in his mind to go back and finish them. Shortly thereafter, he followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and moved to Florida to work in produce. There he met his wife, Ali, and they began a life together. Their son, Conrad, Brenton's greatest pride and joy, was born a few short years later and is approaching his third birthday. Brenton spent countless hours calling his parents and other family to share every moment and memory of Conrad's life.
His final adventure was to the Sierra Nevada range in California where he reached the summit of White Mountain, elevation 14,252', in September of 2023. He was immensely proud of his adventurous accomplishments, frequently undertaken alone, and often spoke with his father about one day hiking the Appalachian Trail together. He also had dreams of climbing and trekking in farther reaching destinations such as Patagonia and the Himalayas.
Brenton also leaves behind a mother, Susanne Holbert (Rocky), a father, James Weaver (Lisa), siblings Kendall Weaver (Rachel), Colton Weaver, Austin Weaver, Hunter Holbert (Caroline), and Shanna Holbert Dotson (Jonathan), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Julia Talley Ruff, Clara Johnson, and Josiah Johnson III, and a stepsister, Sonya Holbert.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 6th at First Baptist Church of Hendersonville, located at 312 5th Ave West, Hendersonville NC 28739.
Donations will be accepted to establish a scholarship fund for Conrad.

Brenton was always upbeat and pleasant. I enjoyed the conversations we had about many subjects. He was genuinely sincere and had a great outlook on life. His heart was golden. He will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
