Maureen (Mitzi) Zuleger, age 79 of Bonduel, passed away peacefully on December 23rd, 2023, at her home. She was born September 1st, 1944, to the late Alex and Loretta (Zuehlsdorf) Stern. Her baptism and confirmation were performed at Friedens Lutheran Church town of Hartland by Rev V J Weyland on September 24th, 1944. Mitzi confirmed her faith to the Rev. Erwin Schewe on the 8th day of June 1958.
Mitzi graduated from Bonduel High School in May of 1962. She married Joseph Huntington in 1964 and was blessed with four beautiful children, Mark, Kim, Paul and Jeff. Mitzi drove the school bus for Bonduel School District for 43 years. She enjoyed camping up north with the children, snowmobiling, bowling, gardening and decorating cakes. She also was a charter member of the Cecil Lioness Club.
On June 29th, 1991, Mitzi married Ken Zuleger and the following year purchased the bowling alley in Bonduel namely Zugie's Bar & Bowl. Ken and Mitzi enjoyed traveling with friends over the years. Ken and Mitzi spent countless hours watching their children and grandchildren compete in sports of all kinds.
Mitzi is survived by two sons; Paul (Sherry) Huntington, Jeff (Susan) Huntington, daughter in law; Mary Huntington, step-children Kurt (Tami) Zuleger, Karla (Kevin) Westgor, Grandchildren; Brice (Jaime) Huntington, Breanne (Jeff Van de Bogart) Huntington, Brooke (Josh) Rouse, Bronson (Dartania) Huntington, Brynn (Dustin) Tomas, Nathan (fiancé Lauren Nourse) Huntington, Justin (Kelsi) Huntington, Grace, Ava, Maxwell Huntington; Step-grandchildren, Stephan White, Zach Kroenke, Brianna (Kyle) Lentz, Graciali Zuleger, Brock (friend, Alyssa Wareham) Westgor, 9 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, one great grandchild on the way, brother Jim Stern (June), sister Judy Reinke (Harvey) and brother in laws Del Zuleger (friend Joanne), Dennis Zuleger and Phil Fleigle.
Mitzi was proceeded in death by her husband Ken Zuleger, a son Mark, a daughter Kim, parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and June Zuleger, stepdaughter Kari White, brother and sisters-in-law, David and Audrey Schommer, Connie Fleigle, Beverly Zuleger.
A funeral service for Mitzi will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Friedens Lutheran Church of Bonduel with Rev David Ticks officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery following services. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of service.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the compassionate ThedaCare hospice team. Additionally, special thanks to Shelia at NEWH and Kevin at Crossroads Custom Cabinetry for allowing Mitzi's daughters-in-law the flexibility to provide constant care for her while in her final weeks.
