Maurice F. Geary, affectionately known as "Butch," passed away on July 3, 2025 at the age of 82, in Port St. Lucie, FL.
He was born on March 28, 1943, in Tarrytown, NY, to his late parents Maurice, Sr. and Mary (Quinn) Geary.
Butch's youthful years were spent in the embrace of his small hometown, which began the foundation of his character. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country with pride. Upon completing his military service, he joined the Greenburgh Police Department. It was here that Butch devoted 34 years, as a guardian of the community, earning the respect and admiration of his peers.
His personal life was equally as blessed. He married the love of his life and beautiful wife Roseanne (Iarricco) on November 11, 1967, at Mt. Carmel Church in Yonkers, NY. Together, they welcomed and raised two wonderful children, Kevin and Mary. Butch's enduring love for his family was evident to all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Roseanne Geary, his two loving children, Kevin Geary and Mary Geary, four cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Danielle, Jessica, and Joseph, and his four treasured great-grandchildren, Madison, Leo, Alex, and Christopher, Jr. He also leaves behind his dear sister Kathleen Pearson.
Sadly, he was predeceased by his two brothers Michael and Edward Geary, as well as his daughter-in-law Lorraine Geary.
Butch was a man whose passion and enthusiasm for sports was unyielding-a lifelong die-hard Rangers and Mets fan, he relished the thrill of the game. In his retirement, Butch and Rosanne found joy in the sun-drenched days of Florida, where they continued to make memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who knew them.
Described as loving by all who had the pleasure to encounter him, Butch's passing leaves a void that can only be filled by the memories of his kindness and the times he made brighter.
Maurice F. Geary's legacy of a life well-lived, with steadfast love, integrity, and an unwavering dedication to family, friends, and community.
